I didn’t realize then that healing starts long before the skin closes.
It starts the moment someone reaches out — quietly, lovingly — to care.

Years later, when life led me into the world of wound care, the injuries I encountered were deeper and more complex: chronic wounds that didn’t heal in days or weeks, but lingered for months — sometimes years. I met people living with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, post-surgical wounds — and I saw how these wounds didn’t just impact the body. They exhausted families. They wore down caregivers. They changed the rhythm of daily life.

I kept thinking: why should healing be limited to the clinic?
